Bredenbury Court Barns: A venue built for gorgeous wedding photos
I’ve been wanting to photograph Bredenbury Court Barns for a long time. Why? Because this wedding venue is built for photography. They’ve put so much thought into the set ups of the rooms and the available natural light. This makes all the difference when it comes to wedding photos and gives us to much more space to get creative, and light to get those gorgeous bright, timeless images couples are often looking for.
Nestled between Worcester and Hereford, Bredenbury Court Barns offers breathtaking views of the English countryside, making it a hidden gem for couples seeking an exclusive-use wedding venue. Once a private school, this wedding venue was restored a few years ago and has that perfect blend between historic charm and modern features —creating the perfect setting for your wedding day.
Picture-Perfect Preparation Spaces
The day began in Bredenbury Court’s thoughtfully designed guest accommodations, which feel like private homes complete with open-plan living spaces—a real advantage for candid photography. The adjoining “beauty booth” next to the orangery provided a little retreat for the bridal party to relax while hair and makeup preparations unfolded. It’s literally around the corner from the ceremony space too which is so handy!
A standout photo for me was definitely when the couple’s daughter fell asleep in the makeup chair. Such a funny and adorable moment!
The Orangery: Natural Light Ceremony
The venue’s stunning 1920s restored orangery is one of the prettiest ceremony spaces I’ve ever seen, flooded with the softest natural light which as such a huge impact on wedding photos. Especially if you’re planning a Spring or Autumn wedding. As a wedding photographer, capturing moments here is a dream come true. The light dances beautifully through the expansive windows and skylights, offering a romantic glow even on cloud-covered days.
Candids
After the vows, guests move outside into the grounds overlooking countryside views which is perfect for candids. The couple had arranged for lots of lawn games and canapes which helped create a lovely atmosphere for friends and family catching up and getting a little competitive with the giant Jenga!
Formal Group Photos & Couple Portraits
For formal group photos, we tried to keep things very short and sweet to the couple could have as much of their cocktail hour as possible with the guests. When we chatted through their wedding timeline beforehand, they mentioned their main priority was having time to spend with friends and family so they kept their list to a minimum and we worked through all their family portraits and couple portraits as guests were moving indoors for speeches.
Barn Wedding Reception
Inside the oak barn, the ambiance was nothing short of magical. The warm tones of the beams and floors beautifully complemented with the sky blue table linens and classic green and white floral centerpieces. The space was ready to welcome the couple and their guests for a sumptuous wedding breakfast.
During the wedding breakfast, once speeches are over I tend to take my break nearby. Wedding photos of guests eating are never flattering, and usually by this point, the wedding party are ready for a break from photos. This also gives me time to prepare for the next part of the day.
Bredenbury Court Barns – a wedding photographer’s dream
Bredenbury Court Barns truly has it all—unmatched beauty, impeccable service, and endless charm. From the light-filled orangery to the cosy oak barn, it’s got all that warm rustic charm couples want, but it doesn’t compromise on bright, natural light spaces which make photos pop so much more.
To Hannah & Philip —thank you for letting me capture your unforgettable day at this extraordinary venue. And to couples considering Bredenbury Court Barns for their wedding, you’re in for an experience as timeless and beautiful as the photographs we’ll capture together.
