Newborn and family photography isn’t really for the now, it’s for the future.
It’s a gift to ourselves and our babies which only grows in value with time. When it comes down to the things we treasure most, the things we’d grab if the walls caved in around us, it would be those photos - those moments we never wish to forget.
Those bump photos we take when our bodies change beyond recognition, we’ll revisit with disbelief that we once looked like that, that someone so important to us now was hidden within there. The sight of our baby’s hand clasped tightly in ours reminds us how small they once were. Photographs are a glimpse into what has been, captured in a beautiful artistic way which makes us feel beautiful. Memories fade but cherished photographs that we love and care for do not. Let’s give future generations a beautiful childhood they can remember and relive through the investment we make today.
These photos we are about to take will be those that will one day sit within a well loved photo album, our children brushing their fingers over those few remaining parts of their childhood. Only aged 4, my eldest daughter asks for our family photos regularly, remarking on her little face peering out of a bundle of blankets, the way she sat within the crook of my arm. Already these photos grow in importance as we glance through and realise, that version of her will only ever exist in those precious photos now.
Photographs are a glimpse into what has been, captured in a beautiful artistic way which brings all us back to that exact time, so fleeting and yet such a fundamental part of who we are now.
