Authentic, Natural Wedding Photography for Relaxed Couples
Why is IT a great wedding venue for photography?
Picture the dreamiest Cotswolds wedding venue and, chances are, you've just pictured Hyde House.
If you're weighing it up, or you've already said "yes" to Hyde House and are now on the hunt for your Hyde House wedding photographer, welcome - this page is basically written just for you!
As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I've been lucky enough to photograph weddings here, and it's honestly one of my favourite wedding venues to work at. Not just because it's ridiculously photogenic but because everything you need is in one gorgeous spot, tucked into the heart of a classic Cotswolds village Stow-on-the-Wold.
From the light-filled getting-ready spaces that overlook the grounds, to that golden hour magic in the landscaped courtyard, Hyde House has serious luxe, timeless energy. In this Cotswold wedding venue guide, I'll take you through the different spaces, drop a few insider tips, and show you exactly why Hyde House is such a photographer's dream venue and how you can make your wedding day there, extra magical.

The wedding spaces at hyde house
Here's something I love: both partners get gorgeous spaces to get ready in, no compromise needed.
The Bridal Loft sits above the main reception area and feels bright, calm, and wonderfully tucked away from the buzz below. My favourite bit? You can watch your guests arriving without being seen - such a special little moment before it all kicks off. Photography-wise, the skylights are a total game-changer. Natural light floods the room, so your getting-ready photos feel bright and timeless rather than dark and moody. There are also little pockets for your dresses to hang for a lovely wedding dress photo, if you'd like one, without needing to risk taking it outside.
The Library, on the other hand, is a completely different vibe. Sage green walls, book-lined shelves, cosy armchairs - it's perfect if you want something a little more intimate. I love photographing final touches by the window here, where the light is soft and flattering but all that gorgeous character stays in shot.
Indoor or outdoor wedding ceremony?
At Hyde House, you get both. The Grange brings a beautiful barn-style feel while staying bright and airy. I like to position myself between the large window and your registrar so you're never backlit, and I can still catch your guests' reactions too. As the ceremony wraps, I love grabbing a wide shot with you silhouetted against that huge window overlooking the countryside.
If you've got a bigger guest list (or you're getting married in summer), I'd nudge you towards the Arbour instead - the outdoor ceremony space. It's cooler, roomier, and gives everyone (including us suppliers!) more space to move. Bonus: it's a brilliant confetti backdrop, and you can head back later for portraits framed by rolling countryside... and maybe a curious dairy cow or two. Can you tell I love the cows here?
Not to be confused with the Grange which is used for wedding ceremonies, the Barn at Hyde House is where your wedding breakfast happens, and it's stunning.
Windows all around mean you're bathed in daylight with views over the gardens and venue frontage - no need for flash photography here! Cream walls with panelling detail keep things bright without feeling clinical, so whether you want bold, colourful florals or a minimalist all-white theme, this space is your blank canvas.
What makes Hyde House so special isn't just the looks (though, wow) - it's how effortlessly relaxed the whole day feels.
No trekking between buildings, guests naturally flow from space to space, and there's always somewhere beautiful to sneak off for five minutes of couple time. You're also surrounded by gorgeous Cotswolds villages, so a little wander before or after your wedding day is highly recommended.
Those quiet in-between moments are where my favourite photos happen, and having everything so close together means guests naturally mingle, explore, and create those candid gold moments. Oh, and did I mention the cows? I LOVE the cows - guests adore them too. They make for such a fun wedding candid photo.
This venue never steals the spotlight from you. It gives you a stunning, neutral backdrop so your story and styling take centre stage. Oh, and the food? Epic.
