Ollie & Iloni’s wedding was one for the memories. So perfectly their own with so much love and spirit. Having lived in the centre of Bristol and met there through the Woodlands Church in Bristol it was the only place they could imagine getting married with all their family and friends around them.

Bridal Prep

The day started with taking wedding photos at bridal prep with Iloni, her bridal party and Mum. Her dress hung on the curtain rail in her room and her bridesmaids (largely all her housemates) bustled about getting ready. There was so much energy and excitement in the air and Iloni was the epitomy of calm. Once ready, we did some quick bridal party portraits outside their house and then walked to the church which was a stone’s throw away in Stokes Croft.

Whilst this was going on, my husband was nearby the groom Ollie and his groomsmen, his highlight of the day was all the groomsmen making their way to the church on Bristol’s electric scooters which bare dotted all over the city!

Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was filled with music and readings from friends and family and a huge confetti line outside. As you can see from their wedding photos the day was just vibrant with colour and joy – the photos reflect that.

After the ceremony everyone drove to the nearby wedding reception. Tucked away near the eco homes of Stokes Croft it was a huge outdoor space full of trees, grassy areas and an outdoor auditorium perfect for speeches and dancing. The couple had arranged a huge BBQ followed up a dessert table which made for great wedding photos. It was such a lovely, casual way to have a wedding breakfast and we joined the groups of guests catching up on tree logs as the kids darted about in the trees.

Outdoor Speeches & Fireworks on Croft Hill

An emotional set of speeches happened at the auditorium followed by dessert. Then much later into the evening the couple arranged for every guest to carry candles in jars up Croft Hill which overlooked the city where they released fireworks into the sky. The wedding photos that came out of those experiences were just magical.

This was one of my first weddings in Bristol, and it was after this wedding that I knew I couldn’t do anything else. The love, joy and personality that this wedding had was incredible. We started as strangers but after this wedding Matt (my second & husband) and I felt fully part of the furniture.

The perfect summer wedding in Bristol where the couple showed how you can really tailor your wedding to make it your own.
