Hogarths Hotel Solihull Wedding Photography
As a Worcester Wedding Photographer, based a short drive away from Solihull, my style blends relaxed documentary coverage with romantic, natural portraits—and Hogarths Hotel in Solihull is the perfect setting for this approach. With its stunning 27-acre grounds, amazing outdoor ceremony area – ‘the island’, and elegant interiors full of natural light, it’s an incredible venue for capturing timeless wedding photos and a photographer’s dream.
I arrived early with my second photographer to walk around the grounds before we went to wedding preparations. It was such a gorgeous open space with plenty of room for guests to stay on the venue, and grounds for everyone to explore. The island and the wedding reception spaces had to be my favourite.

Bridal Prep at Hogarths Hotel
After exploring the grounds, I went to meet the bride, Hannah, whilst my second went to photograph Doug at groom prep. This is a big reason why I love having a second photographer with me as I can be in two places at once, and both partner’s prep and morning experiences can be documented at the same time. I chatted to the bridal party, and worked around the two spaces to document the goings on. We of course took some time out to photograph the bridesmaid’s in their personalised hoodies aswell.

A Picture-Perfect Outdoor Ceremony at the Island
The outdoor ceremony area at Hogarths Hotel is truly something special. Set on a small island created by a natural stream, it provided an idyllic backdrop for the couple’s heartfelt vows. My second photographer stayed with the bride to capture the wedding dress reveals whilst I walked over to the island ready to capture her entrance across the bridge. The sound of gently running water added a serene atmosphere, and the soft natural light made for stunning wedding photos. One of the highlights was capturing the couple’s daughter playing a special role in the ceremony—such a touching moment to photograph!

Family Portraits & Candid Moments
Thanks to careful planning during my timeline questionnaire call with the couple, we breezed through the family portraits right after the ceremony, allowing guests to get back to celebrating as quickly as possible. The light near the ceremony space was absolutely perfect, making for beautifully timeless family photos.
From there, my second photographer and I worked through the crowd, capturing candid moments—old friends reuniting, laughter shared over cocktails, and plenty of adorable shots of the couple’s daughter playing with her little friends. These natural, joyful interactions are what make wedding photography at Hogarths Hotel so special.

A Stroll Through the Stunning Grounds
Before the wedding breakfast, we took a short 15-minute break for couple portraits. The tree-lined paths, charming wooden bridge, and lush gardens provided a gorgeous variety of backdrops. These moments away from the crowd gave the couple time to soak in the day while I captured some of my favorite shots of them together.

A Magical Wedding Breakfast & Golden Hour Portraits
Hannah put so much thought into every detail of the wedding reception space, and it showed! From literary-themed table centerpieces to elegant signage, the décor was both personal and breathtaking. The natural light streaming into the reception room at Hogarths Hotel only added to the magic, making every photo look warm and inviting.

Wedding Speeches & Golden Hour
The couple had their wedding speeches before they had their meal. This is something I always suggest as it allows those who are doing speeches to get the nervous bit done first so they can enjoy their meal, it also means they have clean tables for their speeches photos which always shows off the wedding reception styling best.
After the meal and speeches, we made the most of the golden hour light for one last set of romantic portraits on the lawn. The soft, warm glow was the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible day.
