Congratulations! You've likely been waiting a long time for this moment to arrive and now you get to tell everyone you're getting married! You've booked your venue and now it's time to find your wedding photographer. I know I'm bias, but finding your wedding photographer is a pretty big deal as your wedding photos are one of the only things you get to keep when your day is finished. As a largely documentary wedding photographer, I believe your wedding photos should tell a story of your day - making you smile, laugh and cry as you relive all those little moments over and over again. Sometimes, getting to see a moment you would have otherwise missed.

For me wedding photography is about capturing the essence of your wedding day. The people involved, the styling and aesthetic you worked hard to create, the events that happen both big and small. A huge part of how I do this is by getting involved in your wedding by chatting to guests so they feel comfortable, by providing a helping hand to you whenever you need it from fluffing a wedding dress to fixing a button hole. By getting stuck in, I can capture conversations as they're happening, that single tear that falls as your Mum sees you walk down the aisle. I keep my wedding photo colours true to life so you can see your wedding colours and aesthetics as you chose them.

Who am I? I'm Grace Dove, a mama of two young daughters and I live over near Kempsey, I am a primarily reportage wedding photographer in Worcestershire. I cannot tell you how passionate I am about my job as a wedding photographer, it truly is the most creative and fulfilling role but the main reason I do what I do, is the people. The wedding couples I work with often come back as their lives evolve and change because we just can't say goodbye forever! It's such an honour to be part of my wedding couple's lives at such a huge milestone and I want to make their experience as magical as I can.

As you can see from my wedding portfolio, documentary wedding photography is timeless and focussed on relationships between people, a huge part of what I do is making people feel comfortable so I can capture them authentically. Beautiful light drives me and I'm always looking for the most flattering light and scenery to make an image pop. The feedback I get from my couples after they get their wedding photos means everything to me and I always encourage enquiring couples to have a look.

I can't wait to work with you!

It's always good to see how a wedding photographer approaches a full wedding day. Grab a cuppa and have a look through some of my recent wedding galleries spanning a variety of different weddings. If you're keen to see more, you can also pop over to my blog to have a look through more weddings and family sessions I've done where I talk through how I approached them so you can get a feel for how I work.

My approach to wedding photography is often called Reportage or Documentary Wedding Photography. Simply put, it’s about capturing your day as it unfolds naturally, with a focus on genuine and emotive moments, The only time when I step out of that role is for couple portraits and family portraits. These photos are some of the most important and without some direction, they're hard to make happen naturally. A lot of your wedding day you're dispersed and chatting to guests so this is a chance for you to come together and have some time to yourselves. If I asked you to just 'look naturally in love' it's very likely you wouldn't have a clue what to do! So I offer the odd prompt to get those natural looking photos, where you're positioned in a flattering way, in the best light and looking amazing.

I like to blend into the background with weddings, a little like a guest, so that people continue to be themselves around the camera and don't even notice when a photo has been taken. I rely on natural, available light for wedding photos to create the signature look that defines my style. This means every gallery is different as the wedding photos are very much determined by the available light at the wedding venue and the colours within the space. If it's an indoor barn wedding, photos will be darker and warmer in tone. If it's an outdoor ceremony in the summer, the wedding photos are brighter and more vibrant. By working without flash the majority of the day, I ensure the atmosphere you’ve so carefully curated remains intact, .

Your wedding day is about you. My aim is to document it with care and thought as possible — giving you the most incredible experience so by the time your coverage has come to an end, you wish you could do it all over again.
