Summer Hyde House Wedding
I love being a Cotswolds wedding photographer and living near places Stow-on-the-Wold as you get to work at stunning wedding venues like Hyde House. This wedding venue is full of gorgeous features, ‘The Grange’ full of natural light and rustic charm where wedding indoor ceremonies happen, ‘The Arbour’ which is the most beautiful focal point for outdoor ceremonies overlooking the field of friendly cows, and ‘the barn’ which has a modern, contemporary look which is perfect for natural wedding photography.
For photos you can head to the landscaped gardens away from guests, or roam the grounds taking it all in. For your wedding breakfast the room inside the barn is beautiful and spacious and looks epic
WEDDING STYLING
Emily and Jamie opted for traditional, elegant flowers with green and white for a clean, sophisticated look which photographed beautifully. Their wedding styling was largely done by Emily herself and really was a Pinterest board come to life, with every detail shouting, "This is us!" From the signage to the table decor. It was so professionally done, definitely a career opportunity there if she wanted to pursue it!
Bridal Prep
There is is so much space at Hyde House you can pretty easily have both partner’s getting ready at the venue. Emily stayed in the Barn hidden from guests upstairs whilst Jamie was over at the main house with his groomsmen. To ensure both sides of prep were documented the couple booked my second photographer extra and for this wedding, I hired my husband (did I mention he’s a photographer too!?). This was a great way to cover different parts of the day that were happening at the same time. I started by taking Emily’s dress to the Arbour which framed it beautifully before documenting candids happening between her and her wedding party. Can we take a moment for her Mum’s dress too? I absolutely LOVED it, the sequins looked so good in their wedding photos too.
CEREMONY
For any wedding ceremony, my favourite moment to photograph as a Cotswolds wedding photographer is the moment both partners see each other for the first time. This wedding was no different, I loved Jamie’s reaction to seeing his wife-to-be walking down the aisle. Although for this particular wedding, him handing Emily a Manchester United football shirt was also hillarious! My husband was a big fan of this as he’s a supported too!
POrtraits
There was a large grooms party at this Hyde House wedding, with two grooms-women who had amazing black dresses to compliment the men wearing tuxes. So we did some fun candid shots of them all walking together. I love creating movement for wedding party portraits as a wedding photographer as it helps to encourage real laugher and candid moments. We then moved into couple portraits where I walked Emily & Jamie around the venue, I loved the grange wooden doors and their landscaped gardens. Both perfect backdrops for wedding photos.
Speeches
The speeches for this Hyde House wedding hit me right in the feels, especially when they raised a glass to those who couldn't be there. As a wedding photographer, capturing those emotional speeches and tear-jerking moments wasn't just a job. It was a real honour being able to listen to stories as they unfolded about absent loved ones, even my camera lens got a bit misty-eyed. I'm not ashamed to admit I shed a tear or two behind that lens. Love does that to you, you know?
