Spring Wedding at Manor by the Lake

Back to the blog

There’s something truly special about seeing months of wedding planning come together in one unforgettable celebration—and Laura & Brett’s day at the beautiful Manor by the Lake was exactly that. As a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of moments like these, and this one will definitely stay with me for a while.

Morning Magic in the Bridal Suite

I arrived at Manor by the Lake on a gorgeous April morning, greeted by sunshine and that unmistakable wedding day buzz. Laura and her bridesmaids were in full prep mode when I popped into the grand bridal suite—hairdryers buzzing, makeup brushes in use, and laughter in the room.

One of my favourite little details? Laura brought her beloved Minions eye mask along—how fun is that?! We also ended up chatting about her tattoos, a few of which I recognised! It’s those personal touches that really make the day feel so uniquely them.

Meanwhile in the Rock Bar…

Not long after, Brett and his groomsmen made their entrance and headed straight to their pre-wedding HQ—the Rock Bar. It’s a fantastic space tucked away in the venue, complete with a bar, pool table, and plenty of natural light (a dream for photos!).

Once the guys were suited up, I grabbed Brett for a few relaxed portraits near the window before heading out to capture them mingling with guests.

A Beautiful Ceremony in the Italian Gardens

Laura looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the Manor’s iconic staircase with her mum by her side, ready for the ceremony. I loved the sweet tribute to her dad—a little charm on her bouquet that spoke volumes.

The ceremony itself took place in the breathtaking Italian Gardens. The sun was shining, the vows were heartfelt, and after a sweet little heart emoji moment (yes, really!), Laura & Brett walked back down the aisle, officially husband and wife. Cue confetti, cheers, and lots of hugs!

Couple Portraits and Cotswold Charm

After drinks and canapés (expertly served by the Manor by the Lake team), I whisked the newlyweds away for their couple portraits. It’s such a magical part of the day—just the two of them, soaking up that just-married joy.

Manor by the Lake wedding photos are always stunning thanks to the venue’s dreamy grounds, and Laura & Brett were glowing. These two were so natural in front of the camera, making my job an absolute joy.

Reception, Speeches & Golden Hour Glam

Dinner was, as always at Manor by the Lake, absolutely delicious. Everyone was still buzzing from the ceremony, and the speeches? Hilarious, heartfelt, and totally nailed by everyone who stepped up.

As the sun dipped lower, we headed back out for golden hour portraits—complete with cowboy hats! It was their fun little nod to their upcoming Texas honeymoon, and the way Brett gently placed Laura’s hat on her head while the sunlight poured in behind them… it honestly looked like a scene from a romantic movie. One of my favourite Manor by the Lake wedding photo moments ever!

A Sweet Ending to a Perfect Day

The evening kicked off with a cake cut (crafted with love by Brett’s mum and featuring their three adorable cats—so cute!), followed by the couple’s first dance. The dance floor soon filled up with guests showing off their best moves, and I stuck around to capture those lively, joy-filled moments before calling it a night.

It was such a pleasure being part of Laura & Brett’s big day at Manor by the Lake. If you’re dreaming of your own wedding here and looking for a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I’d absolutely love to hear from you!
