Hyde House is the epitome of a Cotswolds wedding venue. I’ve photographed at this stunning Cotswolds wedding venue before and honestly, it never misses. It’s one of those venues where everything has been so intentionally designed that your day just flows, and I am so here for it.
Maybe it’s the sweeping countryside views, the cows in the field (super friendly by the way), the soft golden light that floods the grounds in the evening, or the modern barn ceremony space that has all the rustic charm whilst still feeling modern. Whatever it is, Hyde House has quickly become one of my favourite places to photograph weddings in the area.

About Hyde House
Hyde House has that perfect blend of modern barn and Cotswolds charm. It feels classic and timeless, stylish without feeling overly “done”. The interiors are bright, neutral, and designed to complement whatever styling you choose, whether you’re going full romantic florals or keeping things minimal. At this particular wedding, the bride did all the styling herself, it was incredible!
One of the biggest wins with Hyde House is how everything is laid out. The venue is purpose-built for weddings, which means your day moves seamlessly from one part to the next without loads of walking or awkward transitions.
The terrace is a standout feature, especially in the summer. Guests can spill outside for drinks with uninterrupted views across the countryside, and stunning landscaping. This spot is a must for golden hour portraits.
Hyde House Ceremony and Reception Spaces
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Hyde House is how well each space works. Everything feels cohesive, but each area still has its own vibe. There are also designated areas for different parts of the wedding day, so it’s super easy to plan your wedding around those spaces.
Here’s a peek at some of my favourite spaces and why they work so well.
The wedding preparations space
There are two spaces for wedding prep in the morning, which is amazing in itself as not every wedding venue has this. There’s the Bridal Loft which is above the main reception space. You can see everyone in the gardens below but they can’t see you – perfect! There’s a gorgeous corner where you can get some stunning wedding dress photos but most importantly, there are sky lights above to bring in that much needed light for photos. The space is a cosy, warm colour with plush sofas and space for everyone to fan out.
The library is often used as the second wedding prep space. This is based inside the house and has gorgeous sage green walls, panelling and loads of books lining the walls. It’s a great space because you can be near guests as they arrive but also shut yourselves off if you want to, to get ready. I love to do prep photos in the window besides the two arm chairs so you get gorgeous natural daylight on your face but have the cosy ambience of the room in the background.
The Arbour and The Grange
Both of these areas are perfect for ceremony spaces, it all depends on if you want an indoor or outdoor space. The Grange can get a little tight on space at the front when there’s lots of people so I always suggest outdoors if you’re having a larger wedding in the summer as it’s cooler and there’s more space for everyone to chill – and for us suppliers to work around you to get every moment documented beautifully.
The arbour is also a great place for portraits with you perfectly framed in the middle, surrounded by countryside – and maybe the odd dairy cow. I love the cows at this venue, can you tell?
The Barn
Not to be confused with the Grange (the barn style ceremony space), the Barn is where you’ll have your wedding breakfast and it is STUNNING. There’s loads of windows around the outside so you can see the gardens and the frontage of the venue. There’s a cream colour on the walls with panelling detail so it’s bright and open but doesn’t feel sterile. You can really pop this space with loads of bright florals, or you can keep things minimalistic and classic with a monochrome, or all white theme. You literally can make it however you want as it’s an open canvas.

Hyde House is one of those venues that just works for photography.
There’s natural light everywhere, from prep through to your reception, which means your photos feel bright, clean, and true to colour.
You’ve also got:

It never feels forced or overly staged here. Everything just unfolds, and that’s when the best photos happen. Basically, it’s the perfect wedding photography canvas so it’s a perfect backdrop to shoot.

Any insider tips for this wedding venue?
First, don’t skip sunset portraits. Just trust me here. Towards the end of your wedding breakfast, or maybe after depending on the time of year, I’ll sneak you away to my secret spot where the sun hits just right.
Also, take a few quiet minutes to look out the windows in the loft, and take in all your guests arriving. It’s so important to allow yourself time to watch the day you’ve planned for so long unfold!
Lastly, don’t stress the timeline. The team here knows what they’re doing, and they’ll keep everything running smooth behind the scenes so you can actually enjoy the day.
