I absolutely love discovering new wedding venues, and Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham is quickly became a firm favourite. I was so excited to return here last summer when I photographed Bradley and Annabel’s beautiful summer wedding. The day began with relaxed preparations in their gorgeous bridal suite before heading downstairs for final touches, including the arrival of their two much-loved dachshunds, who played a very special part in the day.
Their outdoor ceremony was simply perfect. With the sun shining and the gardens looking incredible, Bradley and Annabel exchanged their vows outside surrounded by family, friends, and their four-legged companions, creating such a personal and joyful atmosphere. Afterwards, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn while we took advantage of the stunning grounds.
Couple portraits were really important to Bradley and Annabel, so we headed off together for a good walk around the venue to make the most of the light and the beautiful surroundings, some of my favourite images of the day came from this time as the couple really wanted to relax into their photos so we took out time walking around and getting those candid moments.
The celebrations continued with a heartfelt father-daughter dance, followed by a romantic first dance from the newlyweds before the dancefloor truly came to life with plenty of props and laughter. Later on, we slipped outside for some cigar photos that the groom had been particularly excited about, capturing a few relaxed, stylish moments to finish the evening perfectly.
Some of my favourite documentary moments from this wonderful day are below…

I like to divide couple portraits into two short batches. One 20 minute session before wedding breakfast, and a second at golden hour / before dancefloor so you aren’t doing too many photos that close together! I love how for the second batch couples are usually more relaxed as all the big stuff is done and they can just enjoy!
