Megan & Dan had their wedding in September at Davenport House which is over in Worfield, Shropshire. Being a florist by trade, Megan, as you can imagine had created the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception space down to those all important little details. Her bridesmaids and bridesman were in florals and Davenport House was just the absolutely perfect setting for wedding photos with it’s gorgeous outdoor spaces and amazing charm inside with period features in abundance.
Wedding Outdoor Ceremony
When we arrived, Megan was buzzing about the venue getting those final details perfect before she headed upstairs to get ready. Meanwhile Dan was greeting guests downstairs and keeping an eye on their pup Klaus. The wedding ceremony was absolutely incredible and the weather couldn’t have been any more perfect. With ceramic swans, pillars for florals and vintage bells for the bell ringing part of the ceremony every part of it was perfect for the couple and having a celebrant led wedding which was completely tailored to the couples love story was amazing for wedding photos.
Outdoor Speeches
One of the things I loved most about Megan & Dan’s wedding was their outdoor speeches. They sat on a grass lined sofa with sunnies and their guests were on chairs and picnic blankets watching. It was such a lovely way to make speeches more relaxed and perfect for wedding photos as they were all outdoors so we had lots of space to move around and lots of light!
Wedding Breakfast
Can we take a minute to talk about this wedding breakfast set up at Davenport House? The florals, the garden party vibes. The stunning pale green walls of the formal Dining Room which sets it all off so nicely. It was an absolute dream to photograph. The lighting was perfect, and everywhere you looked there’s something else to see. Megan has truly outdone herself with the styling.
Couple Portraits
This couple were a tad nervous about couple portraits, a lot like many of my couples, because it’s not something they’re used to! So we took Megan & Dan out when all the guests were being seated for wedding breakfast so it was just us and them without anyone watching. We started really easy with just a little walk around the lake, then from there we moved into some super simple but romantic close shots of them facing each other. A huge part of couple portraits is movement, and lots of looking at each other, this stops things feeling forced or awkward and instead bring out the natural you. Can you believe these two thought they weren’t photogenic!
Wedding Dancefloor
Led by a live saxophone player, the dancefloor kicked off in the Grand Hall at Davenport House with Megan & Dan’s grand entrance down the stunning grand staircase. It was the perfect way to see out the evening and I loved the tambourines the couple gave their mothers to use!
