As a Bristol wedding photographer, I like to continue creating even when wedding season draws to a close. This year I decided to head over to one of my favourite wedding venues, The Pear Tree Purton for a styled wedding shoots to keep those creative juices flowing. Fun fact: I once had my eye on this gem for my own nuptials, but thanks to the wild twists of Covid, that dream didn’t quite unfold. Nevertheless, Pear Tree turned out to be a playground of possibilities for this styled shoot! The aesthetic of Pear Tree Purton is every wedding photographer’s dream. Lots of natural light in every room, neutral colours so you don’t have any dominant tones coming in through your images and huge gardens for couple portraits.

Styling

If you’re a sucker for natural light, modern fixtures, and an ambience that oozes charm, Pear Tree Purton is your dream venue. The interior is a swoon-worthy blend of sophistication and contemporary flair – the kind that makes you want to throw confetti in the air (or, you know, do a little happy dance). I always tell couples to fall head over heels for the inside just as much as the outside. Why? Well, because you never know when the weather might decide to play its own little game.

Couple Portraits

Now, here’s the kicker – our styled shoot coincided with a day-long downpour. Rain on a wedding day? The horror, right? Wrong! Thanks to Pear Tree’s white walls, massive windows, and stunning features, the rain became an unexpected guest, adding a cool editorial vibe to the entire affair. The couple photos? Oh, they were as breathtaking as ever. Who knew rain could be such a stylish plus one? As a professional wedding photographer it’s my job to think on my feet when it comes to capturing your wedding day, so even if we can’t go outside much I will always find the best spaces to get those all important couple portraits.

The importance of wedding venue interiors

The Pear Tree Purton styled shoot taught me a valuable lesson as a Bristol wedding photographer: love your venue inside and out. Rain or shine, this place transformed into a magical haven for creativity. So, dear couples, take note – when choosing a venue, make sure it can handle whatever curveballs Mother Nature throws your way. Because, trust me, those unexpected moments might just turn out to be the highlight of your day.
