Christmas weddings don’t get much better as a wedding photographer, than photographing one at Bourton Hall in the heart of Warwickshire. Trust me; this place is a slice of wedding heaven, and Nicky & Paul’s celebration took the magic to a whole new level!
The Venue
Let me set the scene – Bourton Hall is not just a venue; it’s a majestic mansion with so many stunning spaces to say “I do” and a grand staircase straight out of a fairy tale for those all-important wedding prep pics. There’s so much character indoors but there’s also plenty of outdoor space for those summer weddings at Bourton Hall too.
The Chapel Ceremony
Nicky & Paul, chose Bourton Hall for its pièce de résistance – the chapel with a raised balcony. Immediately, thoughts of Love Actually’s epic wedding flash mob danced in their heads, and they were all in for recreating the magic. Cue my excitement for this secret mission! This was such a fun surprise and something I’d never photographed as a wedding photographer before. Having little surprises for your guests is such an amazing way to keep the energy high on your wedding day, just be sure to let me know so I can be in the right place at the right time (discretely of course)!
Speeches & Bouquet Toss
The speeches for this Bourton Hall wedding had everyone in STITCHES. Laughter echoed through the halls as friends and family regaled everyone with tales that made the guests howl with laughter. This always makes for great wedding photos too! Then to round off the night, the couple had a cake cut followed by a bouquet toss rather than a first dance. I loved this idea as dancefloor alternative. Bourton Hall became a warm, festive backdrop for this wonderful wedding.
