DAVENPORT HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Davenport House is a wedding venue that ticks every box. I'm so grateful to be a recommended wedding photographer supplier there. This venue has all the history and character but every space is flooded with natural light and is beautifully presented. Think pastel sages and beautiful floral wallpapers on the walls teamed with antique chestnut wood dressers and doorframes, your wedding photos look like art here because every backdrop is utterly gorgeous. Not to mention their incredible staircase which is the most amazing place for portraits.
Based in Worfield, Davenport House is surrounded by Shropshire scenery. Think rolling hills, dairy cows and resident peacocks. I headed to my car after a wedding this year to see all their babies in the car park. It's so magical. This wedding venue is a Grade I listed Country House and has so many grand features but maintains that home-y feel. With Davenport House you get to have that countryside feel, but the elegance of a charming manor house where a lot of your family can stay the night of. I absolutely love it there. So let's dive in!

Wedding Photos from Davenport House
Some photos of real weddings from Davenport House so you can get a feel for their unique wedding spaces and how they can look when styled and flowered from their Grand Hall to their gorgeous grounds around the wedding venue.
- Start coverage 30 minutes before you're moved into the Honeymoon Suite. This allows me time to get the wedding dress photo and/or flat lays in the space before you're moved across from the cottage so no one sees it before you get changed!
- Try to be ready around an hour before your ceremony. This allows time for beautiful portraits of you, photos on the grand staircase, emotional reveals and letter exchanges etc without feeling rushed.
- The Saloon is a great place for prep photos too with the wooden panelling and rich tones. We can then head outside through the main entrance to get fun wedding party photos on the stairs and create a staggered look which photographs well.

THE HONEYMOON SUITE
- I recommend an outdoor ceremony at Davenport House as you get amazing natural light, there's lots of space for your content team to move around without blocking guest views and you have the most incredible views behind you.
- You could give your guests confetti to throw as you come back up the aisle, or you could go back up to the house, and have your confetti exit coming through the backdoors with the house being your backdrop.
- A celebrant led ceremony can be so lovely for an outdoor ceremony if you want it to be personal to you as a couple. You could also use any traditions that align with you, I've seen ring blessings and bell ringing at Davenport and both were so lovely!

AN OUTDOOR CEREMONY
- Long tables work really well in this space to make use of it's rectangular shape, I also love to use the mounted mirrors for some fun detail wedding photos here.
- Try to allow time before your guests enter for a private wedding reception reveal so you can see it before the styling is compromised by hats and bags on the tables!
- For speeches, if you'd like a more informal approach, have them outdoors on the lawn. I've seen this done before on picnic blankets before food and it worked beautifully. Davenport House have a mic set up you can use too!
- Be aware that if you sit in front of a window, you will be very backlit in wedding photos, for speeches, standing at the corner of the room alongside the top table means you'll be much better lit.
